¨ Interact and coordinate with other Department Heads, employees, the Town Manager, Library Board of Trustees, elected officials, other local, and state agencies, other parties, and the general public for overall management effectiveness with respect to other programs and policies of the Town of Windham.


Qualifications

Knowledge of current library standards, practices and procedures, ability to exercise sound judgment in the process of determining policies and procedures; demonstrated administrative, budgetary, personnel, and project management skills; excellent oral and written communications skills; and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with employees, other Department Heads, public officials, the Library Board of Trustees, volunteers, and the general public.

Appointees to the position of Library Director must possess the following qualifications:

¨ Master?s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university;
¨ A minimum of five (5) years? experience working in a library, preferably with supervisory experience;

3. Assists caller by keeping them calm to be able to get the information needed to properly dispatch proper emergency unit(s).
4. Dispatches proper emergency units and keeps them informed by relaying information between caller and responding units.
5. Maintains accurate records by entering calls into the computer and update, modify and maintain accurate information on the same.
6. Ensures accurate records by maintaining various logs and files deemed to be the responsibility of the communications division.
7. Assists public safety personnel by responding to their requests for information such as generating teletypes and entering National Crime Information Computer (NCIC) in computer.
8. Assists other departments with crimes that may enter the county by monitoring a separate channel which includes 16 frequencies of area agencies surrounding Cumberland County patrol areas.
9. Assists public safety personnel by monitoring teletype for incoming messages from other agencies on important information that may contain information regarding officer safety and wanted persons and stolen items.
10. Assists public safety personnel by providing teletype information requests for D.M.V, M.W.M/ NCIC wants/warrants and reply by radio or telephone.
11. Maintains warrants information by entering, modifying or canceling warrants into the MWM/NCIC wants computer using proper codes and procedures set by each.
12. Assists courts by receiving and providing requests for warrant recalls from system.
13. Assists other departments by researching computer records for information needed to assist them in their investigations.
14. Assists public safety personnel by handling requests for Division of Motor Vehicle records.
