Job Description:

The Vassalboro Board of Selectmen is accepting proposals from any Certified Maine Assessor (CMA) who may wish to be appointed as the Assessor of the Town of Vassalboro on an annual contractual basis. The Town of Vassalboro is located approximately 15 miles northeast of the State Capital of Augusta, Maine with a 2000 census population count of 4,047. As of January, 2010, Vassalboro has 2,588 billable real estate parcels and 129 billable personal property accounts, with a current state ratio of 100%. Our last revaluation was in 2007, performed by RJD Appraisal. The three year average number of building permits issued per year during 2006 through 2008 is 149 permits.

The Town is seeking an experienced CMA who will begin work on or about July 1, 2010 and is willing to devote a minimum of 52 eight-hour days per year for Vassalboro assessing needs. The work schedule can be flexible with Town Manager approval. The town uses TRIO software and approximately three quarters of the real estate accounts containing buildings have been electronically sketched into the property record using the TRIO supported Winsketch program. The tax maps have recently been converted to a GIS format. Knowledge of the TRIO and Winsketch programs, as well as the ArcView 9.3.1 software will be helpful for the successful contractor. Contractor must be willing to learn these software programs if not already familiar.

Proposals including proof of CMA certification, list of assessing experience, and three business references with contact number, must be submitted to the Vassalboro Town Office, PO Box 129, 682 Main Street, N. Vassalboro, ME 04962 by ll:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at which time the proposals will be opened and read publicly. The award of the proposal will be made by the Board of Selectmen at a later time, yet to be determined. The Selectmen reserve the right to accept or reject any and all proposals.

The Town of Milton, NH (population 4,300; $3M Budget, 33 square miles land area and 1.2 square miles of inland water area) seeks a Town Administrator to serve as Chief Administrative Officer for the Board of Selectmen. The position coordinates, directs and plans the workflow of various municipal operations. Milton is located on the beautiful Three Ponds with easy access to New Hampshire's mountains and seacoast area.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or a related field and at least five years progressively responsible experience in municipal management. Proven success in building and maintaining a variety of positive relationships, creativity, and establishing a results-oriented culture is strongly desired.

Job Description:

The Falmouth Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 21 years old, in good health, have an Associates Degree or the equivalent of 60 hours of college course work or equivalent work/military history, and must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Applicants must have passed, or be able to pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT Test. The successful applicant must also be able to pass a polygraph examination, a psychological test, medical tests and an in-depth background investigation. A physical agility test will be administered as part of the recruitment process. Any candidate who has taken the MCJA Physical Agility Test on or after July 1, 2009, may submit proof of a passing grade in lieu of attending the physical agility test. However, all candidates will be required to pass the Falmouth PD's test prior to an offer of employment.
