The Town of Greenville is seeking proposals from contractors to complete waterproofing of the foundation for the Shaw Public Library building. The scope of services shall include the removal and proper disposal of the concrete and masonry ADA ramp on the south side of the building, excavation of three sides of the foundation for the waterproofing system, installation of waterproofing membrane system and perimeter drain, and outlet of the perimeter drain to an MDOT catch basin on the northwest corner of the building. A temporary pressure treated wooden ramp complying with ADA standards shall be constructed to replace the ramp that will be removed. All site restoration (loam and seed) shall be included.

The following is a list of materials to be used in the execution of the work:

The walls shall be backfilled with clean compacted gravel. The contractor shall be responsible for all erosion control measures for compliance with DEP?s best management practices. Any pavement disturbed by construction shall be replaced. The work shall be started immediately following notification of the chosen bidder and completed within a minimal amount of time. (14 days)

The Town will secure any permits that may be required.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the project site on Tuesday, November 10th at 10:00am for all interested parties.

Assists with various requests from walk-ins and telephone. Assists in maintaining motor vehicle files. Assists the City Clerk with voter data maintenance and election activities.

The City of South Portland, a forward thinking progressive community of 23,000 located on Casco Bay is currently seeking a full time Chief Operator to join our team of professionals in the Water Resource Protection Department. The Chief Operator works under the direction and guidance of the Treatment Systems Manager and has direct supervision over operational staff at the wastewater treatment plant and pump stations.

The incumbent is responsible for the day to day operation and control of the City's wastewater treatment facility and pump stations. The selected candidate will monitor all treatment processes and laboratory results and making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with all State and Federal permits.

The selected candidate must have the ability to perform and direct routine preventative maintenance tasks, housekeeping duties as well as plant and pump station maintenance and repair functions as needed. Serving as the lead trainer for operating personnel when new equipment or procedures are developed at the treatment plant or pump stations and maintaining the computerized operational preventative maintenance database is required.

To qualify for this position candidates should have strong knowledge of the equipment, facilities, processes, methods and procedures used in wastewater treatment operational and preventative maintenance activities. Excellent communication skills and previous supervisor experience preferred. A valid Maine Drivers License and a Maine Grade III Wastewater License are required.

Police Department - The City of Portland, Maine, the State's largest city in a regional economic hub of 228,000 with City proper having a daytime population of 125,000 and a nighttime population of 65,000, seeks an important management position within the Portland Police Department. The Director heads the Emergency Communications Division, which is responsible for the Regional 911 operations of three communities, and will oversee 37 employees. The 24 hour operation receives approximately 45,000 emergency calls for service a year. The center dispatches responders of police, fire and emergency medical services to Portland, South Portland and Cape Elizabeth. The communities are host to a major seaport and an international jetport and when combined have a nighttime population of 97,000 residents. Requirements: Proven management, with excellent communications and supervisory and training skills. Comprehensive understanding of the operation of an emergency communications center, which utilizes Enhanced 911 (E911), interfaced with Computer Automated Dispatch (CAD). The successful candidate will be capable of being certified as an Emergency Communications Operator, Emergency Medical Dispatcher and has graduated from a college or university with a degree in a related field or have an equivalent combination of experience or training. Prior experience as a Emergency Communications Director, Familiar with Sungard HTE products, including CAD, GPS systems for Emergency Vehicles and Motorola 800 MHz radio systems; experience preferred. Must be able to obtain a valid Maine drivers license, willing to meet with employees on a variety of shifts and must be available to work on an on-call basis during emergency situations. Candidate shall successfully pass an extensive police background check and polygraph. Starting salary range: $54,346 - $63,589 depending on qualifications.
