Preference will be afforded to full time certified peace officers. The Wilton Police Department will assist all applicants through the lateral process. Out of state applicants typically travel to Maine once prior to employment. Applicants must successfully pass a suitability screening, agility test, oral board screening, physical exam, and intensive background investigation. Depending on certification level, a psychological test may be required but a polygraph test is mandatory. An applicant must successfully complete a field training program, and a probationary period.
